The internationally renowned landscape architect Ulf Nordfjell has created many fantastic gardens and parks. When he now presents ten new creations, it is with a focus not only on beauty, but also on how parks and gardens are affected by a changing climate as well as the changes of the seasons.
We get to come along on an incomparable garden journey – from northern Sweden to the Mediterranean, a journey through many latitudes and climate zones. We get an insight into the thoughts behind castle parks, city parks and villa gardens and how their architecture and design come about. But Nordfjell also raises the great destiny question of our time: the climate changes that affect parks and gardens in the short and long term.
Jason Ingram, internationally recognized garden photographer, has taken a large part of the photos in the book. With his camera, he captures both the pale light in the north and the warm colors of the Mediterranean light. Lisen Stibeck and Yanan Li’s unique pictures complement, to show how differently we look at and perceive our gardens.
